06 January 2025 - My Little Epiphany

Maybe a dozen or so years ago, I kept an annual blog called 52 Mondays. The structure, I believe, is self-explanatory. Each year, the theme of my posts varied: PK-12 education, higher ed, etc. It felt good to post each Monday something I’d researched and taken great care to craft for others. My younger two daughters and I moved to Georgia a little more than a decade ago, and the blog fell off my radar. New job, new high schooler, too little time.

Today, January 6, 2025, I want to unveil my own little epiphany. The drive to return to public wordsmithery has grown steadily over the past two or three years, and as I look into the near future, I realize I have more to say. It’s my great pleasure to revive 52 Mondays in this space. Because my personal and professional passions merge on the focal point of women’s and girls’ issues, expect many posts on these topics. As current events dictate, I reserve the right to deviate from time to time.

I also reserve the right to express my fundamental disdain for sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, Trumpmania, and the Taliban. If any of this bothers you, good. I look forward to engaging your logical, reasoned, rebuttal.*

So. Big sigh. Welcome, 2025. Let’s get started.
